PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
2024 ABOR President
Jason Hodges
Dear Members,
It’s been an amazing year as President of the Aspen Board of Realtors. I truly had no idea how much work was going on behind the scenes to protect private property rights, our business interests and to promote the important roles that REALTORS play in the transaction of real property. There are hundreds of boards throughout the country representing 1.5 million Realtors on the specific issues and needs in their areas of the country, just like we are here at ABOR. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve side by side with what I now know is one of the best boards, committees and leadership teams in the country.
For those of you who were not able to attend the recent ABOR Community Forum covering the Economic Impacts of STR’s (short term rentals) please reach out to the Association office and we will forward you the slide show presentation, which was presented by Jack Greacen of AEG Advisors. It was a very informative presentation and contained some great data points.
From the standpoint of the National Association of Realtors it’s been a tumultuous year, and members have reached out voicing their concerns over the lawsuits. NAR has had their hands full, cleaning house and dealing with the onslaught of lawsuits. So far, there have been no changes to the 3-Way Agreement (binding National – State – Local) which has been the structure of the organization for over 100 years, which was reflected in your 2025 Dues Billing. In spite of the recent challenges, there are some incredible benefits in the areas of advocacy, the code of ethics, and education. We will of course let you know of any changes to the structure of the organization allowing options other than currently exist.
Thank you for trusting us and renewing your membership in 2025 so we can continue to be an organized & collaborative force in real estate and in our communities.
Here’s to a great fall and winter season, hope you enjoyed ABOR’s Fall Tour!
Cheers, Jason
