We recommend you start taking steps NOW to prepare for these major practice changes by doing the following:
- Offers of Compensation to buyer’s brokers will continue to be permitted to be offered and marketed, just not using the MLS or the MLS provided tools (e.g. ShowingTime)
- Talk to your managing broker about where your brokerage will publish its offers of compensation and where to find other brokerages’ offers of compensation
- Understand that financing regulations do not permit buyers to finance their buyer’s broker commission and what that means for sellers, appraisals and loan-to-value.
- Know your value proposition for both buyers and sellers.
