Dear Members,

I am happy to inform you that we are actively working on developing a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee at the Aspen Board of REALTORS®.

Diversity: to increase diversity, which is expressed in myriad forms, including race and ethnicity, gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, language, culture, national origin, religious commitments, age, (dis)ability status and political perspective.

Equity: To commit to working actively to challenge and respond to bias, harassment, and discrimination. Commitment to a policy of equal opportunity for all persons and do not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, age, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, religion, height, weight, or veteran status.

Inclusion: A commitment to pursue deliberate efforts to ensure that our offices are places where differences are welcomed, different perspectives are respectfully heard and where every individual feels a sense of belonging and inclusion. By creating a vibrant climate of inclusiveness, we can more effectively leverage the resources of diversity to advance our collective capabilities.

Diversity and inclusion (D&I) are essential elements in today's world, D&I also create a sense of belonging, boosting morale and productivity. Inclusive brokerages value and respect individuals for their unique attributes, leading to higher retention rates and reduced turnover. Moreover, D&I enhances understanding of diverse customer bases and contributes to social progress. 

  • Diversity is where everyone is invited to the party
  • Inclusion means that everyone gets to contribute to the playlist
  • Equity means that everyone has the opportunity to dance/experience the music

In conclusion, diversity and inclusion are vital for success. They foster innovation, enhance employee & client engagement, drive customer satisfaction, and contribute to societal progress. Let us commit to building inclusive brokerages for a brighter future.
